Assembly Technician – Electric Vehicle Technology | £12.98 per hour| Leatherhead (On-Site)
Reed Engineering are currently recruiting for Assembly Technicians to join an award-winning British engineering company that’s developing zero-emission, battery and solar-powered transport refrigeration units (TRUs) to replace diesel systems.
This is a hands-on assembly role, based 5 days a week on site in Leatherhead, working within a growing production team to build a cutting-edge product that’s already in use by major brands such as Tesco, Ocado, and Birds Eye.
Role details
*Position: Assembly Technician
*Location: Leatherhead, Surrey
*Salary: £27,000
*Contract: 2-month Fixed-Term Contract
*Working pattern: Fully on-site
What you’ll be doing
*Building production Transport Refrigeration Units (TRUs)
*Supporting kitting for development and production builds
*Working to detailed assembly instructions, drawings, and CAD models
*Troubleshooting assembly issues and maintaining build documentation
*Maintaining quality, traceability, and health & safety standards
*Supporting continuous improvement activities within production
What we’re looking for
*At least 1 year’s hands-on experience in automotive, prototype build, motorsport, aerospace, or commercial vehicles
*Strong practical assembly skills (mechanical or electro-mechanical)
*Ability to work accurately from drawings and instructions
*Good awareness of health & safety and PPE
Nice to have (not essential):
*Electrical or wiring/harnessing experience (LV/HV)
*Automated assembly exposure
*Forklift licence
