Procurement Specialist – 3- 6-month contract – £350- £500 per day (inside IR35) - Wallingford, Oxfordshire (onsite)

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for executing day-to-day procurement activities to support manufacturing operations. This includes ensuring the timely and cost-effective supply of materials, components, and services to maintain production continuity.
Working closely with sourcing, planning, and production teams, the Buyer will play a key role in managing supplier relationships, tracking orders, and resolving supply chain challenges in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Raise and manage purchase orders in line with production requirements
*Communicate with suppliers to confirm orders, delivery schedules, and shipment details
*Expedite or reschedule orders to meet changing business needs
*Monitor supplier performance and address delivery or quality issues
*Collaborate with internal teams to ensure material availability and inventory accuracy
*Support onboarding of new suppliers and manufacturing partners
*Investigate and resolve supply issues, including delays, shortages, and discrepancies
*Assist with inventory control to balance stock levels and reduce excess
*Ensure compliance with procurement processes and supplier agreements
*Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
Required Qualifications & Experience
*Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
*Minimum 3 years’ experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain
*Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment
Desirable Skills & Experience
*Experience sourcing direct materials or managing suppliers
*Exposure to contract manufacturing or outsourced production
*Understanding of logistics, international purchasing, and Incoterms
