Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a leading manufacturer to recruit a Maintenance Planner for their site in Selby.
This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically or electrically biased engineer looking to move away from a hands-on maintenance role into a structured, desk-based engineering planning position.
The successful Maintenance Planner will take ownership of maintenance planning, CMMS control, engineering data accuracy and contractor scheduling to help improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime across the site.

The role of Maintenance Planner:
*Manage the CMMS system, ensuring all maintenance activity is accurately scheduled, tracked and recorded
*Create, issue and close work orders for planned, corrective and urgent maintenance tasks
*Maintain accurate equipment records, asset hierarchies and preventative maintenance plans
*Support spare parts management including stock accuracy and ordering of critical high value items
*Plan maintenance work alongside engineering supervisors, technicians and site contractors
*Help roll out structured criticality-based maintenance strategies
*Produce downtime, compliance and engineering KPI reports
*Analyse recurring equipment issues to support continuous improvement projects
*Ensure contractor work schedules and service agreements support business demand
*Train and support engineers on correct CMMS usage and system discipline
This Maintenance Planner position is a key role within the engineering function and will suit someone who understands how poor planning can quickly lead to lost production time, rising maintenance costs and avoidable breakdowns.
The successful candidate will need:
*Mechanical or electrical engineering maintenance background
*Previous experience in a Maintenance Planner, Engineering Planner, Engineering Co-Ordinator or similar role
*Experience working within similar manufacturing, FMCG or another process-led environment
*Strong working knowledge of CMMS systems
*Experience with planned preventative maintenance schedules and spare parts systems
*Strong IT skills including Excel, Word and reporting tools
*Ability to generate maintenance reports, KPI data and equipment performance analysis
*Excellent organisation skills and strong attention to detail
*Able to work independently and maintain control in a busy engineering department
This role is particularly well suited to a maintenance engineer who wants to step off the tools and move into engineering planning, maintenance control and reliability improvement.
