Senior Accountant
Peterborough
£38,000 - £45,000
A leading and rapidly growing top 20 accountancy firm is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Peterborough office. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking, people-focused practice supporting a wide range of ambitious SMEs and corporate clients. The role offers a blend of technical delivery, client advisory, and team support, giving you the chance to take ownership of a varied portfolio while contributing to the continued growth of the firm.
Role Responsibilities
*Preparing financial statements and tax returns for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
*Producing client approval packs and supporting finalisation processes.
*Assisting clients with Making Tax Digital (MTD) compliance.
*Preparing and submitting VAT and CIS returns.
*Providing general accounting advice and supporting clients with software queries.
*Reviewing junior team members’ work and supporting their development.
*Managing deadlines and ensuring all client work is delivered accurately and on time.
Personal Requirements
*3+ years’ experience within an accountancy practice.
*AAT, ACA or ACCA qualified.
*Strong attention to detail and a proactive, hardworking approach.
*Confident communicator with the ability to build client relationships.
*Strong Excel skills (including VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs and Pivot Tables).
*Experience with accounting software such as Sage and Xero (CCH desirable).
*Well organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
*A collaborative team player who supports and motivates others.
