Job Title: Service Manager (NHS)
Location: London
Duration: 12-Month Fixed Term Contract
Salary: Band 7 (NHS equivalent)
Are you an experienced healthcare manager ready to take the next step in a dynamic NHS environment? We’re working with a leading London-based NHS Trust to recruit a Service Manager on a 12-month fixed term contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality patient services, driving performance, and leading operational improvements across clinical and non-clinical teams.
The Role
As Service Manager, you’ll work closely with senior clinical and operational leaders to ensure services are efficient, patient-focused, and meeting national performance targets. You’ll have responsibility for operational delivery, team leadership, financial management, and service development.
Key responsibilities include:
*Leading and managing outpatient and administrative services
*Driving performance against key NHS targets (RTT, cancer pathways, emergency care)
*Managing budgets and supporting financial planning
*Leading service improvement, transformation, and change projects
*Ensuring strong governance, risk management, and quality standards
*Line managing teams and supporting workforce development
*Working collaboratively with clinicians and senior stakeholders to improve patient pathways
About You
We’re looking for someone who combines strong operational management experience with excellent leadership skills.
Essentials:
*Proven management experience within NHS / healthcare
*Strong leadership and people management skills
*Experience managing budgets and delivering against financial targets
*Ability to manage complex workloads and deliver to tight deadlines
*Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
*Experience in service improvement, transformation, or project management
