IT Category Manager (Contract) - London | £550-£650/day | ASAP Start
We’re working with a leading global insurance organisation to hire an IT Category Manager on an initial 6-month contract.


This is a high-impact role sitting within a central procurement function, owning £50m+ IT spend and driving strategic sourcing across applications, infrastructure, and services.
What you’ll be doing:
*Leading end-to-end IT procurement & sourcing activity (applications focus, wider IT exposure)
*Managing large-scale supplier negotiations with tier 1 vendors
*Driving cost optimisation, supplier rationalisation, and commercial frameworks
*Acting as a key commercial partner to senior IT stakeholders across the business
*Supporting major transformation programmes (migrations, service transitions, cost takeout)
*Building and executing long-term category strategies with clear commercial outcomes
What we’re looking for:
*Proven IT Category / Procurement experience (end-to-end ownership)
*Strong exposure to application development / IT services spend
*Experience operating in financial services or complex regulated environments
*Ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead high-value negotiations
*Strong commercial mindset with a track record of delivering cost savings + value
The role:
* London (hybrid - 2-3 days in office)
* ASAP start
* 6-month initial contract
