As a key member of bp’s Global Marine & Energy Extended Leadership Team, the Marine Area Sales Manager?is accountable for delivering exceptional commercial performance across a diverse and strategically important geography. This role leads both direct and indirect sales channels, shaping market strategy, strengthening partner ecosystems, and driving profitable growth of bp’s premium marine and energy solutions.
You will inspire a high-performing team, cultivate deep customer and partner relationships, and translate bp’s strategic ambitions into actionable regional plans. Success in this role requires a blend of commercial acuity, operational discipline, and the ability to lead with purpose in a dynamic, fast pacedsector.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Commercial Growth
* Be responsible for the development and execution of regional sales strategies across direct and indirect channels, delivering balanced, profitable growth for bp’s marine and energy portfolio.
* Translate global and sector strategies into clear, actionable channel plans that accelerate market penetration and strengthen bp’s competitive edge.
* Drive thorough pipeline management, forecasting perfection, and delivery of financial targets including volume, turnover, and receivables.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
* Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse, high-performing regional sales team, encouraging a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer-centricity.
* Conduct regular mentor sessions to elevate capability in value selling, negotiation, prospecting, and solution-based selling.
* Champion bp’s dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion across the region.
Customer, Partner & Market Engagement
* Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key customers, distributors, and partners, ensuring bp remains the supplier of choice.
* Ensure the voice of the customer informs offer development, service delivery, and overall customer experience.
* Actively identify, engage, and develop new business opportunities, maximizing value creation for bp and its partners.
Channel & Partner Management
* Oversee distributor performance, ensuring optimal coverage, capability, and alignment with bp’s global programs and commercial priorities.
