Job Description:
Procurement Specialist
Location: Poole
Hours: Full-time (40 hrs per week, between 07:00–17:30)
An established and growing business is looking to recruit a Procurement Specialist to manage end-to-end purchasing and supplier coordination across an allocated product category. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong attention to detail and experience working closely with suppliers in a fast-paced supply chain environment.
The Role
You will take ownership of the purchase order lifecycle, ensuring timely ordering, accurate system data and high service levels. Working closely with internal teams and external suppliers, you’ll be responsible for expediting orders, resolving issues and maintaining accurate supplier and product records across multiple business systems.
Key Responsibilities
*End-to-end management of purchase orders
*Raising purchase orders accurately and on time using ERP/business systems
*Chasing and reviewing supplier acknowledgements and escalating issues where required
*Expediting orders to maintain availability and service levels
*Updating systems with order status, pricing, lead times and supplier information
*Supporting inbound deliveries, documentation and import clearance
*Managing manufacturing tolerances and supporting supplier payment processes
*Recording and closing supplier non-conformances (NCRs)
*Maintaining supplier and product master data, including price changes and lifecycle updates
*Supporting new product and new supplier setup, ensuring all mandatory data is captured
*Producing reports and information for supplier reviews and negotiations
*Ad-hoc administration and data management support as required
Candidate Requirements
*Previous experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain roles
*High level of attention to detail and data accuracy
*Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
*Confident IT user with experience of ERP or procurement systems
*Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
*Disciplined, process-driven and methodical approach
*Interest in supplier management and product data
