Job Description:
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management & Delivery
*Manage construction projects from tender handover through to completion and final account.
*Coordinate programme planning, site activities, and project resources.
*Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within agreed budgets, and to required quality standards.
*Work closely with Site Managers and subcontractors to support delivery.
*Monitor project progress and proactively address risks or issues.
*Manage one or two concurrent projects depending on size and complexity.
Commercial & Financial Oversight
*Support the commercial management of projects in collaboration with the commercial team and senior leadership.
*Assist with cost tracking, forecasting, and margin monitoring.
*Contribute to procurement activities and subcontractor engagement.
*Support the management of variations and commercial discussions.
*Provide project reporting and updates on financial and delivery performance.
Client & Stakeholder Management
*Act as a senior point of contact for clients and key stakeholders.
*Build trusted relationships that support repeat business and referrals.
*Collaborate with architects, consultants, subcontractors, and local authorities.
*Represent the business professionally throughout the project lifecycle.
Team Leadership
*Provide line management and leadership to Site Managers.
*Set clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards.
*Support capability development and scalability of the delivery function.
*Embed consistent project governance practices.
Operational Scaling & Continuous Improvement
*Contribute to scaling delivery capability as turnover grows.
*Implement structured reporting and analytical decision-making approaches.
*Use project management tools (e.g. Procore or similar) to enhance visibility and control.
*Identify process improvements and efficiency opportunities.
*Support strategic growth initiatives alongside leadership.
Candidate ProfileExperience
*Proven track record delivering high-end residential and/or commercial construction projects.
*Experience operating at Project Manager level.
*Background within a principal contractor environment.
*Experience managing projects in the £500k–£5m+ range.
*Exposure to and experience with JCT contracts.
Skills & Capabilities
*Strong commercial and financial acumen.
*Analytical and structured decision-making approach.
*Confident stakeholder and client management capability.
*Leadership presence with the ability to direct site teams.
*Programme planning and delivery oversight.
*Health & Safety understanding, including RAMS and Construction Phase Plans.
Technical / Systems
*Experience with digital project management platforms (e.g. Procore or similar systems advantageous).
*Comfortable using structured reporting tools and dashboards.
Personal Attributes
*Hands-on and pragmatic approach.
*Detail-oriented with strong commercial awareness.
*Comfortable operating in an SME environment.
*Able to balance autonomy with collaboration.
*Committed to high-quality delivery standards.
Location*Based within commutable distance of the office.
*Ability to travel regularly to project sites across the region.
