This high-profile fixed-term appointment offers the chance to take full financial ownership of a large-scale estate transformation project, providing strategic oversight, rigorous governance, and senior-level financial leadership across the full lifecycle of an ambitious capital development.
This role would particularly suit a qualified accountant with significant client-side capital project experience, ideally having led or overseen major construction, infrastructure, or estate programmes from within an organisation rather than solely from consultancy or contractor environments.
You will act as the senior financial lead for the programme, partnering with executive stakeholders, project boards, estates teams, cost consultants, and external contractors to ensure robust financial control, effective risk management, and value-for-money delivery.


Key responsibilities will include:
• Leading the financial planning, control, and reporting of a substantial multi-year capital budget
• Providing strategic financial modelling, scenario planning, and long-term forecasting
• Overseeing cashflow management, budget monitoring, and governance compliance
• Advising senior leadership and governing bodies on financial risks, opportunities, and programme performance
• Scrutinising contractor and cost consultant reporting to ensure alignment with approved budgets and strategic objectives
• Strengthening financial controls, audit readiness, and governance frameworks across the programme
• Acting as the principal financial adviser on all project-related matters


The successful candidate will bring:
• Full accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Proven experience managing large-scale capital projects client-side
