An established organisation operating within audit and quality assurance for manufactured products is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller / Head of Finance to lead its finance function. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this role is central to maintaining strong financial control, compliance and continuity.

Description
The Financial Controller will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, robust controls and ongoing compliance. Key responsibilities include:


*Production of timely monthly management accounts with commentary
*Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations, controls and integrity
*Preparation of statutory accounts and management of the external audit
*Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis to support decision-making
*Oversight of VAT, payroll liaison and statutory compliance
*Development and documentation of finance policies and procedures
*Line management and development of a small finance team
*Acting as the primary contact for auditors and external advisers
Profile
The successful Financial Controller will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong technical foundations and a genuinely hands-on approach. You will be comfortable operating in a regulated, quality-led or audit-focused environment, owning the detail while working closely with senior stakeholders. Experience within a quality control, or professional services environment would be advantageous.
