Job Description:
Powder Coating Specialist
*Stable Temp-to-Perm
*Location: Buntingford, Hertfordshire
*Salary: to £15.00 per hour | £22.50 per hour Overtime rate
*Hours: 40 hrs/week |Monday to Friday |
Shifts:
*Starting on the Early shift while training - Monday to Friday 7.30AM - 4.00PM
*Then moving to the Late shift 1.00PM - 10.00PM with a shift premium paid from 4.00PM
We are seeking an experienced Powder Coating Specialist to join a busy powder coating production team.
This is a 40-hour, Monday to Friday role, initially working the early shift (7:30am-4:00pm), with a planned move to a late shift (1:00pm-10:00pm) once introduced.
Key responsibilities:
*Prepare components for finishing: cleaning, de-greasing, masking and hanging parts.
*Operate powder spray booth and curing ovens safely and efficiently.
*Apply powder coatings to meet specified finish, colour and thickness standards.
*Carry out routine quality checks and final inspections; correct defects or report issues.
*Maintain a clean, organised work area and perform basic routine maintenance of equipment.
*Follow health & safety procedures, COSHH and environmental controls for coating operations.
*Record production data and complete required paperwork.
Skills and experience required:
*Proven experience as a powder coater or in a similar finishing role.
*Strong understanding of powder coating process, spray techniques and oven curing.
*Good attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent, high-quality finishes.
*Ability to work standing for prolonged periods and handle parts of varying size and weight.
*Reliable, punctual and able to work within a team environment.
*Basic numeracy and record-keeping skills.
