On an exclusive basis greenwellgleeson are recruiting for a hands on SME Financial Controller to work within a construction business based in Telford.
Duties of the role will include:
*Produce monthly management accounts and lead month-end processes

*Deliver margin analysis across projects, highlighting risks and opportunities

*Monitor project performance vs budget and forecast

*Develop and report KPIs and performance insights

*Prepare and present board-level reporting

*Manage cash flow and oversee invoice discounting facilities

*Maintain strong financial controls and improve processes

*Partner with operational teams to drive profitability

Skills, Requirements, Qualifications
*Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)

*Proven experience in an SME Financial Controller (or similar) role

*Strong construction or project-based accounting experience

*Experience with invoice discounting / working capital funding

*Track record of producing management accounts and presenting to senior stakeholders

*Commercially minded and hands-on

*Strong Excel and analytical capability

*Clear communicator, confident at board level

*Proactive and detail-oriented
