Job Description:
We are working with a leading national charity operating in the relationship support sector. This is a rare opportunity to join an organisation at an exciting point of change as they raise their clinical standards and reaffirm their position as a leading specialist in their field. They are looking for an exceptional Clinical Practice Lead to serve as the authoritative clinical voice across their national services.
About the Role
As Clinical Practice Lead, you will set the standards that counsellors and supervisors work across a national network and lead the clinical governance framework. You will be the go-to expert when complex cases or safeguarding concerns arise, and you will ensure that all new services and products are evidence-based and clinically sound across both face-to-face and digital platforms.
This is a broad and influential role spanning clinical excellence, governance, workforce development, innovation and external sector leadership, offering real scope to shape how therapy is practised across the UK.
The role is home-based with occasional national travel.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Excellence
*Set the clinical standards and ethical frameworks that guide all practice nationally
*Ensure safe, effective and evidence-informed therapy across digital and face-to-face settings
*Provide expert clinical input on complex cases and safeguarding concerns
Clinical Governance & Quality
*Lead the clinical elements of the Quality Assurance Framework
*Use data, insight and research to strengthen practice and client outcomes
*Oversee clinical risk management across the organisation
Workforce Development
*Lead and support Clinical Supervisors across the national network
*Build and oversee the national CPD programme
*Support recruitment, competency frameworks and placement pathways
Innovation & Service Design
*Shape new clinical models, digital services and product development
*Provide clinical leadership for transformation and redesign programmes
Sector Leadership
*Represent the organisation externally with professional bodies including BACP, UKCP, NCPS and COSRT
*Influence best practice and sector direction through forums and academic partnerships

Essential Requirements;
*Accredited clinical membership with a recognised professional body (BACP, UKCP, NCPS or COSRT)
*Level 5 or SCoPEd Column B qualification in relationship therapy
*A supervision qualification
*Extensive post-qualifying experience delivering therapy to individuals, couples and/or families
*Proven experience providing clinical leadership and/or supervision across complex services
*Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk and clinical governance
*Commitment to inclusive, GSRD-affirming practice
*Ability to lead with credibility, compassion and inclusivity
*Commitment to data-informed practice and continuous improvement

*Salary of £48,000 – £60,000 per annum (Negotiable DOE)
