We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established distribution business based in Colnbrook for a Stores/ Yard person. This is a hands-on role within a busy operations team, where accuracy, teamwork and pace are key. You’ll be involved in the day-to-day movement of goods, ensuring customers receive the correct products, on time, every time. The successful candidate will be proactive, reliable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Main Responsibilities
*Unloading inbound deliveries from a range of vehicles, from vans up to articulated lorries
*Checking goods against delivery notes and reporting any discrepancies or defects
*Loading outbound delivery vehicles with customer orders
*Working as part of a team to prepare goods for the next day, maximising packing efficiency
*Putting stock away and maintaining tidy, organised indoor and outdoor storage areas
*Working closely with Transport and Stores management to ensure daily targets are met
Requirements
*Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment
*Strong focus on health and safety at all times
*Willingness to work in a predominantly outdoor environment
*Excellent team player with a positive, can-do attitude
*Good problem-solving skills
*Self-motivated and reliable
*Passion for customer satisfaction and right-first-time delivery
*Calm and diplomatic when handling challenging situations
*Full UK driving licence
