Science Technician – Secondary SchoolLocation: Shirley, Croydon
Hours:
*8:00am – 2:00pm (no break)OR
*Finish at 2:30pm with a break
Days: Monday to Friday
Contract: Temporary – Immediate start until end of June
We are seeking a Science Technician to support the Science Department at a secondary school in Shirley, Croydon. This is a full-time, temporary role starting immediately and running until the end of June.
Key Responsibilities*Preparing and setting up equipment and materials for science lessons (Biology, Chemistry and Physics)
*Supporting teaching staff during practical lessons when required
*Ensuring laboratories are clean, tidy and safe
*Managing and maintaining stock of equipment and chemicals
*Following health & safety procedures and COSHH regulations
*Safely disposing of waste materials
Requirements*Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a laboratory environment (preferred)
*Good organisational skills and attention to detail
*Knowledge of health & safety procedures in a school or lab setting
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
