Job Description:
Summary We’re looking for a Campsite Assistant to work at Wasdale and Eskdale Campsite. This role is all about making sure that people have their best possible experience of an outdoor holiday with the National Trust. Internally, within the National Trust, you’ll be known as an ’Outdoors Holidays Operations Assistant’.
Accommodation is provided to the postholder for the proper or better performance of?their?duties?in accordance with?Trust criteria and HMRC rules.?
Salary: £25,837.50 per annum
Contract duration: Fixed term until 31st October 2026
Working Hours 37.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: Your hours will include evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Shifts can be 9-5, 10-6 or 11-7, plus on call duties 4 days per week. Further detail of on call duties can be found in the attachments to this advert.

What you’ll be doing You’ll help to keep the campsite and bunkhouse clean, well-maintained and welcoming for all guests. This includes practical tasks like cleaning and basic maintenance, reporting any repairs needed and generally being a friendly contact for everyone staying here.
You’ll be greeting people, helping with their bookings and dealing helpfully with their enquiries or complaints. You’ll also help to run the campsite shop when needed. Everything you do day-to-day will make a big difference to someone’s holiday, and help to make things run smoothly and to the standard that guests expect from the National Trust.
