Key Stage 3 Teacher - SEN (SEMH)
Dorking, Surrey
Full-time | Permanent / Long-term
MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience)
Tempest Resourcing is proud to be working with a specialist SEN provision in Surrey supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school caters for students who require a highly supportive, structured, and therapeutic learning environment to help them re-engage with education.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Key Stage 3 Teacher to make a genuine impact on young people who benefit from smaller class sizes, personalised learning approaches, and strong pastoral support.

*Specialist provision for students aged 11-16 with SEMH needs
*Focus on holistic development - academic, social, and emotional
*Small class sizes with high staff-to-student ratios
*Strong emphasis on behaviour support, emotional regulation, and life skills
*Collaborative, multi-disciplinary team including pastoral staff and external professionals
*Supportive leadership team committed to staff wellbeing and development
The Role
*Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to Key Stage 3 students
*Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of SEN and SEMH needs
*Foster a positive and safe learning environment
*Support students’ emotional development alongside academic progress
*Work closely with support staff, pastoral teams, and senior leaders
*Contribute to behaviour management and individual support plans
Ideal Candidate
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
*Experience teaching Key Stage 3 (mainstream or SEN settings)
*Strong understanding of SEMH needs and behaviour management strategies
*Resilient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
*Ability to build positive relationships with students who may have complex needs
Requirements
*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
*Right to work in the UK
*References covering the last 2 years
