Job Description:
Welder
Salary: £30,000–£35,000
Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday–Friday
Location: On-site in Solihull
A manufacturing business based in Solihull is looking for an experienced Welder to join its on-site production team. The company specialises in designing and producing precision-engineered stainless-steel equipment for healthcare, pharmaceutical, and life-science environments. Its products include clinical sinks, decontamination systems, bespoke fabrications, and specialist workflow solutions — all built to exceptionally high standards.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal components using a range of welding techniques to ensure every product meets strict quality, safety, and performance requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
*Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
*Performing MIG, TIG, and arc welding
*Preparing materials through cutting, grinding, and cleaning
*Inspecting welds to ensure they meet quality standards
*Repairing and maintaining metal structures and equipment
*Operating welding tools and machinery safely
*Working closely with engineers and production teams
*Maintaining accurate records of completed work
About You
*Proven experience as a welder or similar role
*Welding certification (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent) preferred but not essential
*Ability to read technical drawings
*Strong attention to detail and precision
*Good understanding of safety standards
*Able to work independently and as part of a team
Key skills: MIG, TIG, and arc welding proficiency, problem-solving, manual dexterity, time management, and clear communication.
Working Environment
*Workshop/manufacturing setting
*Exposure to heat, noise, and industrial equipment
*May involve standing for long periods and lifting materials
