Procurement Manager
*Job Type: Initial 5-month Temporary Contract

*Day Rate: Negotiable dependant on experience
Seeking an experience Procurement Specialist to oversee a Council’s transition into a new P2P system. This role requires an individual who can work independently and ensure compliant procurement throughout the process. The successful candidate will join a small but experienced team, focusing on strategic procurement planning and effective management of council procurement activities.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Oversee the transfer of processes into a new P2P system, ensuring smooth and compliant integration.
*Develop and implement strategic procurement plans that align with the council’s objectives.
*Provide leadership and direction to the procurement team, fostering a collaborative and efficient environment.
*Ensure all procurement activities and tendering processes are carried out effectively, meeting the council’s standards and goals.
*Manage procurement categories and oversee traded/income generation activities within the service.
*Monitor and report on the effectiveness of procurement strategies and make adjustments as necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience as a Procurement Manager or similar role, preferably within a public sector or council environment.
*Strong understanding of procurement processes, policies, and systems, including experience with P2P systems.
*Ability to work independently with excellent organisational and strategic planning skills.
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively across various departments.
