Alexander Daniels are recruiting for an Assistant Accountant for a business based in Birmingham. This role offers an opportunity for you to take on a role that is rounded with a variation of tasks. The successful candidate must have previous experience in a similar role.
Key Responsibilities:
*Support the Head of Finance in the day to day bookkeeping.
*Processing accruals, prepayments, depreciation and monthly & year end journals
*Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers, including postings and account reconciliations
*Reporting on debtors and creditors and delivering and dealing with invoice queries/disputes
*Completing Balance sheet, Control Accounts, Bank & Company Credit Cards reconciliations on monthly basis
*Reviewing & Submitting VAT and annual returns, reconciling to the accounting system
*Assist with the yearend process and liaise with external auditors as required.
*Other Adhoc tasks as required.
Essential requirements:
*AAT Qualified or active studier.
*Excellent Excel skills
*Experience in Xero (Desirable)
*Previous experience in a similar role (1-2 years)
