Job Description:
Are you experienced at British Sign Language interpretation in Education? Do you hold a level 3 or higher in BSL? This may be the role for you!
Reed FE are seeking a qualified Level 3 BSL (British Sign Language) Interpreter to assist during GCSE exams. This role is crucial in providing support to a young person who requires BSL interpretation to effectively participate in their exams. The position will also include a session to get to know the student prior to the exams to ensure effective communication.
BSL Interpreter for GCSE Exams
*Hourly Rate: Up to £35 per hour
*Location: N14, London
*Job Type: Temporary
Day-to-day of the role of a BSL CSW:
*Provide BSL interpretation for GCSE exams as required.
*Meet with the student prior to the exams to establish a comfortable and effective communication process.
*Ensure clear and accurate signing during exams to facilitate full understanding and participation of the student.
*Adhere to all exam regulations and confidentiality requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications for the BSL CSW role :
*Must be certified at Level 3 in British Sign Language.
*Previous experience in educational settings, particularly in exam settings, is highly desirable.
*Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with students and educational staff.
*Ability to work flexibly and adapt to the needs of the student.
