Job Description:
Indirect Tax Manager - London (Hybrid)OverviewA market-leading professional services firm is looking to strengthen its Indirect Tax practice by hiring both entry-level and experienced Managers for its London office. You will join a high-performing, collaborative team and work on complex and high-profile Indirect Tax matters in the UK and internationally.
The roleYou will advise clients across a wide range of industries, including financial services, real estate, M&A, public sector, consumer business, energy and resources, global trade, and technology. You may choose to specialise in a particular sector or work across multiple industries.
The work is varied and combines advisory and compliance responsibilities. Assignments may include large property transactions, international supply chain structuring, corporate transactions, and advising on regulatory and digital developments such as e-invoicing, Digital VAT reporting, and emerging technologies. You will regularly collaborate with colleagues across the UK and an international network of specialists.
The scope of responsibility and level of autonomy will be aligned to your experience, with support provided as needed.
Your responsibilitiesYou will:
*Deliver high-quality Indirect Tax advice to large and influential clients
*Manage and develop Analysts, delegating effectively and providing technical guidance (as appropriate to experience level)
*Monitor legislative and policy updates and assess their impact on clients
*Translate complex technical issues into clear, practical advice
*Build and maintain strong client relationships with support from senior leadership
*Contribute to business development and new service offerings
*Work closely with colleagues across the wider firm
Progression is based on performance and impact rather than time served, with a balance of autonomy and structured support.
What you needTo succeed in this role, you will have:
*UK VAT experience gained in practice, industry, or a tax authority environment
*A strong understanding of UK VAT legislation and relevant case law, appropriate to your level
*ATT or CTA qualification, or an equivalent professional qualification, preferred
*Strong written communication and technical skills
*Experience managing or mentoring others, preferred but not essential for entry-level Managers
*Confidence in client-facing situations and relationship building
*A proactive approach with the ability to take ownership of work
