Job Description:
Cherry Professional is working with a well-established business in Coalville, Leicestershire (LE67) to recruit a Finance Assistant to join their finance team, with a clear Purchase Ledger (AP) bias and ownership of key day-to-day processes.
Salary: circa £28000 - £30,000 (DOE)
Hours:40 per week
Type: Permanent | On-site
The role
This is a hands-on, transactional finance role with responsibility for the purchase ledger and wider ledger support, including reconciliations and reporting. You’ll also support the sales ledger (AR) function when needed.
Key responsibilities
*End-to-end Purchase Ledger processing (high-volume where required)
*Supplier statement reconciliations and resolving queries/discrepancies
*Maintaining supplier accounts and ensuring accurate posting / coding
*Supporting month-end activity including reconciliations and basic reporting
*Assisting with Sales Ledger / AR tasks as required (allocation support, queries, etc.)
*General finance admin and team support to keep the function running smoothly
What we’re looking for
*Proven experience in a Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant / Purchase Ledger role
*Confident with reconciliations and ledger ownership
*Strong attention to detail and ability to manage workload/priorities
*Comfortable working on-site and collaborating with colleagues
*Systems-savvy (ERP/accounting software exposure helpful)
