This role sits at the centre of a large-scale transformation and investment programme. You’ll gain early exposure to how the current site operates before playing a key role in helping stand up and stabilise a new, modern manufacturing facility. It’s a chance to take real ownership, influence operational direction, and build long-term credibility in a business that is consolidating, growing, and modernising.
The environment is fast-paced, customer-intensive, and operationally complex. You’ll balance structured programme ownership with day-to-day delivery control, working across multiple customers, product variants, and internal functions to keep performance on track.
Project Manager Responsibilities*Customer & Stakeholder Leadership - Acting as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring clear communication, expectation management, and consistent delivery performance.

*High-Volume Coordination - Managing a broad mix of product variants and overseeing high weekly throughput across a busy engineering operation.

*Programme Ownership - Taking responsibility from contract award through mobilisation and into long-term delivery, maintaining control of scope, risk, and commercial considerations.

*Production Flow Control - Overseeing day-to-day production flow, forward planning, and issue resolution to keep delivery on track.

*Cross-Functional Influence - Working closely with production, engineering, supply chain, and quality teams to resolve issues and maintain operational stability.

*Governance & Reporting - Embedding structured project governance where required, ensuring disciplined reporting, risk management, and decision-making.

*Operational Transition Support - Supporting the move into a new, modernised facility and helping embed stable processes, performance expectations, and delivery rhythms.

*Pressure & Issue Management - Handling demanding situations effectively, pushing back when needed, and maintaining a calm, solutions-focused approach.

Ideal Project Manager*Project Management Experience - Background in project, programme, account, or business unit management within engineering, manufacturing, or high-volume environments.

*Customer Management Strength - Confident managing multiple customers or stakeholders simultaneously with clarity and control.

*Fast-Paced Delivery Mindset - Comfortable operating in a high-pressure, high-volume setting with constantly shifting priorities.

*Influence Without Authority - Skilled at driving actions across teams who do not report directly to them.

*Governance Discipline - Able to operate within structured project frameworks and maintain control of scope, cost, and risk where required.

*Technical Awareness - Understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes, enabling effective engagement with technical teams.

*Resilience & Assertiveness - Able to maintain composure, push back appropriately, and keep delivery moving in challenging situations.

Location & Working Arrangements*5 days per week on-site at Barton-under-Needwood.

*Initial 6-month period in Doncaster for training and development (all expenses covered; flexible arrangements considered).

Salary£50,000-£60,000 depending on experience.
