Harvey Nash’s public sector client is currently looking to recruit a Developer to join their team based in Edinburgh for an initial 6-month period.
Description:
An experienced developer with solid commercial AWS development experience is required to accelerate a move from legacy on-prem registers to new cloud-native solutions. The focus of the work will be the collaborative development of new serverless micro-services using AWS Lambda functions and TypeScript/JavaScript.
Essential Skills:
*AWS including:*CDK
*Serverless (Lambda)
*S3
*API Gateway
*CloudFormation

*TypeScript (or modern JavaScript)
*Making excellent quality software with other people.
*Working with business stakeholders, to understand the context, and to focus on delivering value.
*Design and implementation of solutions using a service-based and serverless architecture.
*Excellent collaboration, communication and teamwork skills
*Experience working in the Agile delivery models - such as Scrum and/or Kanban frameworks.
*Developing within GDS or Digital First (or similar) quality standards
*Cloud monitoring, telemetry, intelligence tools and processes
*Formal XP engineering techniques, including Pair Programming and Test-Driven Development
*Defining infrastructure-as-code
Desirable Skills:
*Human-centred, research-driven, inclusive design practices
*Testing tools and frameworks, e.g. Cypress
*Use of UI pattern libraries to achieve consistent, tested and high-quality interfaces
