Finance Manager – Central Costs & Projects
Location: York with hybrid working
Salary: Competitive + benefits package
We’re looking for a commercially focused Finance Manager to take ownership of central cost reporting and strategic project finance for our growing client.
Reporting to the Group Fc, this is a high impact role where you’ll support senior stakeholders, oversee a cost base and play a key part in shaping financial processes. The role is well suited to someone who enjoys combining strong financial control and finance business partnering.
You will act as the day to day finance lead for central functions and strategic projects, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial control and clear insight to support decision making.
Key duties*Own monthly reporting of central costs, including actuals vs budget and forecast, with clear and insightful variance analysis
*Lead budgeting and reforecasting cycles for central functions, working closely with department heads
*Provide financial oversight of strategic project spend, including tracking budgets, commitments, and accruals
*Maintain strong financial controls across central spend, including approvals, accruals, prepayments, and payroll allocations
*Support audit processes relating to central costs and project accounting
*Build effective relationships with senior stakeholders, providing insight, influencing and challenging
About You*Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with post qualification experience
*Strong background in management accounting, budgeting, and cost control
*Experience business partnering with senior non finance stakeholders
*A proactive mindset with a focus on improving processes and controls
*Comfortable operating in a fast paced environment
