Job Title: Art Technician

About the Role
We are seeking a creative and organised Art Technician to join a college in East London on a temporary, full-time basis. You will support the delivery of engaging art and design lessons by preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and assisting both staff and students in practical sessions.
This is a great opportunity to contribute to a dynamic creative environment and support learners in developing their artistic skills.
Key Responsibilities
*Prepare and set up materials, tools, and equipment for art and design lessons
*Support students and teaching staff during practical sessions
*Maintain, clean, and organise art studios and equipment
*Ensure safe storage and handling of materials, including hazardous substances
*Assist with displays of student work and exhibitions
*Monitor stock levels and order supplies as required
*Promote a safe, inclusive, and well-organised learning environment
About You
*Background or qualification in Art, Design, or a related field
*Experience working in an educational or studio environment - desirable
*Good organisational skills and attention to detail
*Knowledge of a range of art materials and techniques
*Ability to support students in a practical learning setting
*Strong communication and teamwork skills
Desirable:
*Experience supporting art or design courses in an FE or school setting
*Knowledge of health and safety regulations in workshops/studios
*Familiarity with a range of artistic disciplines (e.g., painting, sculpture, printmaking)
