Finance Manager
£55,000 – £60,000 | Office-based | Manchester
A highly attractive opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to join a fast-growing UK SME that forms part of a well-established international group. This is a key on-site role, offering real ownership of the local finance function and close involvement with senior management. This position will suit someone commercially minded, hands-on, and comfortable operating in a growing, project-driven business.
The Role
Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will lead the day-to-day finance function while ensuring accurate reporting and strong financial control in line with group standards. You will also manage and develop one finance team member.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead the month-end close, delivering a fully reconciled trial balance for group reporting
*Full ownership of the balance sheet, including accruals, prepayments and fixed assets
*Oversee revenue, billing and receivables, supporting effective cash flow management
*Preparation and submission of VAT and CIS returns
*Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with group policies
*Partner with operational leaders on financial matters, including cost control and spend oversight
*Manage, coach and develop a Finance Administrator
*Act as the local finance lead, supporting audits and group finance requirements
About You*Qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA or Qualified by Experience
*Proven experience in a hands-on SME finance role
*Strong technical accounting and balance sheet control
*Confident working directly with senior stakeholders
*Ideally experience in construction, engineering, services or project-led environments
*Comfortable in a fast-paced, office-based setting
