Job Title: Registered Manager – Family Assessment Centre
Location: South Yorkshire
Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 per year (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time | Permanent
About the Role:
The Registered Manager is responsible for the leadership, management and regulatory compliance of the Family Assessment Centre. They will ensure the centre provides high-quality, evidence-based parenting assessments and safeguarding oversight for parents and their babies/children in line with Ofsted requirements, statutory regulations, and organisational policies.
The RM is accountable for ensuring the service is safe, effective, child-centred, and delivers positive outcomes for families under the Social Care Common Inspection Framework (SCCIF)
Key Responsibilities:
*Ensure the centre operates in full compliance with: Family Centre Regulations, Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 (best-practice crossover expectations), Ofsted Registered Requirements, Local Safeguarding Partnership procedures.
*Oversee all quality assurance systems, including Reg 25/Reg 45 style monitoring reports.
*Maintain clear and accurate records that meet Ofsted’s expectations for evidence-based assessments.
*Act as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the centre.
*Recruit, develop, and supervise staff in line with safer recruitment and Ofsted requirement.
*Oversee the delivery of robust, evidence-based parenting assessments.
Requirements
*Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
*Previous experience working in a safeguarding environment with children and families.
*Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and inspection frameworks.
*Experience of completing and overseeing parenting assessment.
*Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
*A minimum of two years experience in a management role within social care/children’s services.
*Strong report-writing skills suitable for court proceedings.
