Job Description:
Role: EL/PL Claims Executive - Personal Injury
Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Salary: £27,000 - £37,000
Contract: Full time, permanent, hybrid
We are working with a respected legal services organisation to recruit an EL/PL Claims Executive to join their Personal Injury team. This is a varied and fast-paced role managing a caseload of Employers’ Liability and Public Liability claims, with responsibility for driving cases forward from instruction through to resolution.
The position offers the opportunity to take real ownership of your files, working closely with clients who have suffered injury and ensuring their claims are progressed efficiently, fairly, and with a strong focus on outcomes.
What you’ll be doing
You will manage a portfolio of fast-track EL/PL claims, using your understanding of liability and quantum to progress matters appropriately at each stage. This will include reviewing evidence, assessing case prospects, and carrying out legal research where required to support your approach.
A key part of the role will involve preparing legal documentation such as statements, schedules of loss, and pleadings, alongside negotiating settlements with third parties to secure appropriate compensation for clients.
You will also play a role in identifying cases suitable for litigation, ensuring claims are progressed in the most effective way depending on their complexity and circumstances.
Client communication is central to the role, and you’ll be expected to maintain regular contact, manage expectations, and provide clear updates throughout the lifecycle of each claim.
About you
You will ideally have experience handling personal injury claims across MOJ portal, non-portal, and litigated stages, with the confidence to manage your own caseload independently.
Strong negotiation skills and a calm, practical approach to problem-solving are essential, particularly when dealing with liability disputes or more complex injury claims.
You should be comfortable working within a structured case management environment and able to balance efficiency with a strong focus on client care.
