Key Stage: KS1 - Year 1
The School & OpportunityA progressive and community-driven primary school in the Poplar area of Tower Hamlets is looking to appoint a Primary Teacher from September 2026.
The school has undergone significant development in recent years and now offers a well-sequenced curriculum, strong behaviour systems and a clear focus on high expectations for all pupils. There is a particular strength in early reading, with a consistent phonics approach embedded across KS1.
Staff are supported through centralised planning resources, coaching from senior leaders and regular opportunities to develop their practice. The school places a strong emphasis on teamwork, with year groups working closely together to ensure consistency and reduce workload.
The RoleThe successful candidate will take on a Year 1 class, supporting pupils as they transition from EYFS into more structured learning.
This role would suit a teacher who enjoys early learning and understands the importance of routine, engagement and clear instruction at this stage.
Key responsibilities include:
*Delivering structured and engaging KS1 lessons
*Supporting phonics, early writing and number development
*Tracking pupil progress and adapting teaching accordingly
*Establishing strong classroom routines and expectations
*Working collaboratively with the KS1 team
The Ideal CandidateThe school is looking for a Primary Teacher who:
*Holds QTS with recent UK teaching experience
*Has a secure understanding of KS1 and phonics
*Demonstrates strong classroom presence and organisation
*Is reflective and open to coaching and development
*Works well within a team-focused environment
