Credit Controller (with Litigation Exposure)

Are you an experienced Credit Controller who’s confident managing complex accounts and comfortable working alongside legal teams? We’re supporting a well-established Leicester-based business looking for an immediately available professional to step into a fast-paced environment and make an immediate impact.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on, end-to-end credit control role with a strong focus on reducing aged debt and managing more complex, escalated accounts – including those requiring legal or litigation support. You’ll join a supportive finance team operating in a hybrid model, giving you both flexibility and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
*Proactively manage a ledger of customer accounts
*Reduce aged debt through effective collection strategies
*Handle escalated and high-risk accounts
*Liaise with legal teams and external solicitors on litigation cases
*Prepare documentation to support legal recovery processes
*Negotiate repayment plans and settlements
*Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and customers
*Maintain accurate records and reporting on debtor status
About You
*Proven experience in Credit Control within a commercial setting
*Exposure to litigation processes or working alongside legal teams
*Strong negotiation and communication skills
*Confident dealing with difficult or sensitive conversations
*Immediately available or able to start at short notice
*Comfortable working in a hybrid environment
