Job Description:
We are currently looking for an experienced and detail-driven Estimator to join a growing and dynamic construction business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working on varied projects, building strong relationships, and playing a key role in winning new business.
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive tenders, working closely with internal teams, clients, and suppliers to deliver high-quality proposals and value-engineered solutions.
Key Responsibilities*Prepare and submit accurate and competitive quotations
*Interpret drawings, specifications, and project requirements
*Carry out take-offs and compile costings for labour, materials, and equipment
*Source and manage supplier and subcontractor quotes
*Produce value-engineered solutions to meet client needs
*Manage and track tender enquiries and submissions
*Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
*Support the sales team with updates on quotes and new opportunities
*Ensure all estimates meet budget and project requirements
What You’ll Be Doing Day-to-Day*Reviewing technical drawings and preparing tenders
*Managing cost spreadsheets (Excel) and producing detailed breakdowns
*Monitoring market trends and material cost changes
*Responding to client queries and building lasting relationships
*Collaborating with QS, design, and project teams
*Attending occasional site visits or client meetings
What We’re Looking For*Previous experience in an Estimator role within construction
*Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
*Excellent numerical and analytical skills
*Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office
*Strong communication and relationship-building skills
*Commercially aware with a proactive, solution-focused approach
*Able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
