Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled fabricator welder to join Halifax Sheet Metal at HX1 4PN.
This position will require travel and working away at our other sites in the UK.
Job Purpose Summary:
As a fabricator you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment, fabrication and welding work.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
*MIG,TIG welding
*Fabrication
*Reading and understanding product schematics and assembly instructions
*Taking part in product development meetings
*Verifying dimensions and product specifications
*Ensuring that all the required parts for assembly are present
*Marking cutting lines on materials
*Ensuring that all the parts are properly fitted and aligned.
*Ensuring that all quality standards are met
*Maintaining the production schedule and managing key stakeholders’ expectations
*Testing products for functionality
*Troubleshooting and stress testing the products
*Reporting and detailing product malfunctions
Health & Safety
*Work to the highest standard of Health & Safety at all times, to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others
*Show health & safety awareness in your working environment; speak to a colleague or your manager to highlight any issues
*Follow appropriate RAMS for machinery & other workshop activities
*Wear correct PPE at all times
*Report accidents and near misses to the mangent
*Report any required machine/equipment repairs to management and engineering team
*Ensure you are working in a tidy organised manner at all times
