Elevations Design & Project division are supporting a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in South Yorkshire who, due to continued growth, are seeking a Junior Design Engineer / CAD Technician to join their dynamic design team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career to develop their design skills within a supportive engineering environment. You’ll be involved in producing 3D models and manufacturing drawings, while working closely with experienced engineers to deliver practical and cost-effective design solutions.
Junior Design Engineer Key Responsibilities:
*Assist in modifying and updating existing designs in line with project requirements
*Create 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings
*Support senior engineers and project teams in developing design solutions
*Help produce BOMs, assembly drawings, and technical documentation
*Provide basic support to production and fabrication teams with design queries
*Ensure drawings and models follow company standards and procedures
*Contribute to continuous improvement activities across design and production

Junior Design Engineer Skills & Experience Required
*Some experience in a design, CAD, or engineering environment (placement year or internship considered)
*Exposure to Solidworks or similar 3D CAD software
*Basic understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes
*Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
*Good attention to detail and willingness to learn
*Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude
*HNC/HND, Degree, or currently studying Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)
