Senior Legal Cashier
£40,000 – £45,000
Dorking / Surrey (multi-site + hybrid working)
An established and well-regarded law firm is looking to recruit a Senior Legal Cashier to join its finance team. This is a newly created position offering a mix of hands-on cashiering and broader responsibility across compliance, reporting, and team support.
This role would suit an experienced Legal Cashier looking to step into a more senior position with increased visibility and involvement in the wider finance function.
Key responsibilities include:
*Managing day-to-day legal cashiering across client and office accounts
*Processing payments, receipts, and transfers accurately and in line with SAR requirements
*Overseeing supplier payments and regular payment runs
*Carrying out bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
*Supporting compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules and internal controls
*Assisting with reporting, budgeting, and cash flow monitoring
*Acting as a point of contact for fee earners on finance-related queries
*Supporting junior team members and helping maintain high standards across the function
About you:
*Proven experience within a legal cashiering role
*Strong working knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules
*Confident managing high-volume transactional work with accuracy
*Comfortable dealing with stakeholders across the business
*Ideally some experience supporting or mentoring others
Additional information:
*Full-time role (37.5 hours per week)
*Based primarily in Dorking, with some travel to other Surrey offices as required
*Hybrid working available following probation (circa 60% office-based)
