Cloud Operations Engineer (Graduate - Lead)
Cheltenham 5 days per week onsite
£30,000-£50,000 plus bonus and shift premium
SC Clearance eligibility is a necessity; you must hold sole British Nationality.
Our client is seeking Cloud Operations Engineers at graduate, mid, and lead level to join a secure cloud operations team supporting sensitive, mission-critical systems from a regulated on-site environment in Cheltenham.
This role sits within a 24/7 operations function and includes participation in a shift rota, with additional shift premium paid.
As a Cloud Operations Engineer, you will: *Support the operation of secure cloud platforms and underlying infrastructure
*Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, service issues, and user requests
*Manage and update support tickets, ensuring effective diagnosis and resolution
*Follow documented runbooks and operational procedures
*Support incident management for high-priority or critical services
*Contribute to continuous improvement activities to reduce operational issues
*Work closely with engineers, platform teams, and technical stakeholders
The following skills and experience are relevant for this role: *Experience working with Linux-based systems (training or commercial experience)
*An interest in or experience with cloud infrastructure and platform operations
*Exposure to Kubernetes and containerised environments
*Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
*Ability to troubleshoot technical issues across infrastructure and platforms
*Willingness to learn and operate in a secure, highly regulated environment
At Senior and Lead levels you will also: *Lead or support engineers during shift and act as an escalation point
*Take ownership of incident coordination and operational decision-making
*Mentor and support junior engineers
*Improve operational processes, runbooks, and technical standards
*Contribute to the overall technical direction and stability of the platform
The Package :
• £30,000-£40,000 (Lead up to £50,000)
