We are recruiting for a Production Planning Manager to join a fast-paced and growing food manufacturing business. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced planner or scheduler looking to step into a more strategic, leadership-focused role.
You will play a key role in ensuring production runs efficiently, materials are available, and customer demand is consistently met, all while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality.
The Role
As Production Planning Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating production plans, managing stock levels, and ensuring alignment between sales forecasts and operational delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
*Developing daily and weekly production plans based on sales forecasts and demand
*Setting forward planning parameters (up to 21 days) to guide scheduling activity
*Ensuring raw materials and supplier lead times are aligned with production needs
*Monitoring stock levels to ensure orders are fulfilled in full and on time
*Attending daily production meetings to review KPIs, waste, and performance
*Leading and developing a small planning/scheduling team
*Driving continuous improvement initiatives across planning and operations
*Ensuring all activity meets food safety, quality, and legal compliance standards
About You
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and can confidently balance demand, supply, and operational efficiency.
You will have:
*Experience in production planning, supply chain, or scheduling
*Background within FMCG or food manufacturing (highly desirable)
*Strong Excel skills and experience using ERP/MRP systems (e.g. Navision)
*Proven ability to manage or support a team
*Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
*A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
