Job Title: Medical Receptionist
Location: Oxford Circus, London
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 6-8 weeks (potential to extend due to busy period)
Pay Rate: £16.00-£17 per hour
Working Hours: Monday to Friday (between 8:00am - 6:00pm, Wednesdays up to 8:00pm)
Shifts: 8:00-5:00 or 9:00-6:00
Overview
We are seeking a polished and professional Reception / Patient Coordinator to join a busy private healthcare setting in Oxford Circus. This role is heavily front-of-house focused, with a strong emphasis on delivering an exceptional patient experience, alongside supporting booking and administrative processes.
Key Responsibilities
Reception & Front of House
*Welcome patients, visitors, and staff in a professional and friendly manner
*Manage incoming calls, direct enquiries, and support patient flow
*Handle general administration including data entry, filing, and managing correspondence
*Maintain confidentiality and ensure adherence to all policies and procedures
*Provide a high level of customer service with empathy and professionalism
Scheduling & Administration
*Coordinate and manage patient appointments via electronic medical records systems
*Verify patient details and ensure accurate data capture
*Support with patient queries via phone, email, and online systems
*Assist with documentation, records, and follow-up communications
*Work collaboratively across reception and admin functions as required
Patient Liaison
*Support self-pay patient enquiries and assist with appointment bookings
*Provide information on services, pricing, and next steps
*Follow up with patients post-consultation
*Track bookings and support reporting on activity and KPIs
*Assist with events and patient engagement initiatives
Skills & Experience Required
*Previous experience within private healthcare reception or patient booking
*Basic DBS required
*Strong customer service skills across phone, email, and face-to-face
*Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
*Confident working in a fast-paced, front-facing environment
*Good IT skills including MS Office and patient record systems
*Knowledge of medical terminology or healthcare environments is advantageous
