We are recruiting for a Land Freight Operator to join a growing Land Freight team within a busy Manchester office. This role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of import and export road freight shipments, ensuring efficient processing, compliance, and high levels of customer service.
Key Responsibilities*Support the Operations Supervisor in the daily running of land freight operations
*Manage import and export shipments in line with company SOPs
*Ensure accurate and timely invoicing, including duties and VAT
*Raise jobs, prepare spot quotations, and issue delivery orders
*Liaise with overseas offices, customers, and subcontractors
*Monitor and chase outstanding payments alongside credit control
*Maintain accurate operational records using internal systems
*Ensure compliance with financial, legal, and operational procedures
*Assist with client audits, inspections, and reporting requirements
*Support sales teams by identifying and reporting new business leads
*Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiencies
*Provide holiday and sickness cover when required
Skills & Experience Required*Minimum 1 year experience in land freight / road freight operations
*Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
*Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
*High attention to detail and analytical thinking
*Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and CRM systems
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
