Head of MGA Services
Location: London (Fenchurch Street - 4 days office / 1 day WFH)
Contract: Permanent
Salary: Competitive (DOE)
Reporting to: Head of Operations

A dynamic and growing London Market platform supporting the launch and scale-up of MGA businesses. The organisation provides a full suite of operational, underwriting and regulatory infrastructure, enabling clients to focus on product innovation and distribution.
Operating across MGA services, broker services, and delegated authority frameworks, the business partners with both established insurers and entrepreneurial start-ups to bring new insurance propositions to market.
The Role
This is a senior leadership position responsible for building, delivering and scaling the MGA Services function. You will act as the central point of accountability for all MGA operational activity, ensuring best-in-class service delivery across delegated authority operations.
You will play a key role in shaping operational strategy, improving efficiency, and enhancing the client experience across a growing portfolio of MGA partners.
Key Responsibilities
MGA Services Strategy & Leadership
Define and execute the MGA Services strategy aligned to business growth objectives
Develop scalable operational frameworks to improve speed to market and efficiency
Identify opportunities to enhance and expand service offerings
Act as the senior owner of all MGA operational relationships
Onboarding & Implementation
Oversee end-to-end onboarding of MGA clients
Ensure implementation of underwriting authorities, bordereaux standards, claims protocols and reporting requirements
Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver successful MGA launches
Ensure operational readiness, workflow mapping and system integration
Operational Service Delivery
Lead all day-to-day MGA servicing activities, including:
Delegated authority administration
Premium and claims bordereaux processing
Policy administration
Data quality and reporting
Ensure delivery against SLAs, KPIs and client expectations
Systems & Digital Enablement
Drive adoption of digital platforms and automated bordereaux solutions
Work with technology teams to translate operational needs into system functionality
Champion automation, API integration and MI/reporting dashboards
Monitor platform usage and client engagement
Client Relationship Management
Maintain strong relationships with MGA partners and delegated authority stakeholders
Lead service reviews and identify opportunities for improvement
Act as escalation point for operational issues
Governance & Compliance
Ensure all operations align with delegated authority agreements and regulatory requirements
Oversee audit readiness and control frameworks
Work closely with Risk, Compliance and Legal teams
Monitor incidents, controls and remediation plans
Team Leadership
Build, lead and develop a high-performing MGA Services team
Set clear objectives, KPIs and service standards
Foster a culture of accountability, quality and continuous improvement
Skills & Experience Required
Significant leadership experience within Delegated Authority, MGA or Insurance Operations
Strong technical knowledge of:
Bordereaux processing
Underwriting administration
Claims oversight and premium reconciliation
Experience within the Lloyd’s / London Market
Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders across MGAs, carriers and internal teams
Strong people leadership and team development capability
Key Attributes
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Ability to prioritise workloads and manage deadlines
Accountable, reliable and delivery-focused
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
