Job Description:
A well-established chemical manufacturing business is seeking an electrically biased Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering team in Tameside. This is a permanent opportunity offering stability, a strong salary package, and the chance to work within a process-driven production environment.
The RoleWorking on a rotating 3-shift pattern (06:00-14:00, 07:00-15:00, 14:00-22:00), you will be responsible for maintaining plant reliability through a combination of preventative and reactive maintenance. You’ll play a key role in ensuring production uptime while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Key Responsibilities*Electrical and mechanical maintenance across all plant machinery
*Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown response
*Fault-finding on electrical and mechanical systems
*Identifying and implementing continuous improvements to enhance performance and reliability
*Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and within required timeframes
*Supporting production teams to minimise downtime
*Maintaining accurate maintenance records
*Providing guidance and mentorship to on-site apprentices
Requirements*Electrically biased Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer
*Recognised engineering qualification (apprentice trained preferred)
*Strong electrical fault-finding skills, supported by mechanical knowledge
*Experience within a manufacturing or process environment (chemical advantageous)
*Competent with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
*Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment
*High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
*Flexible and adaptable approach to workload
