Accounts and Tax Manager
Cambridge
£50,000 - £55,000
An established and fast-growing accountancy firm is seeking an experienced Client Manager to join its Cambridge office. This is a client-facing role suited to a technically strong accountant who enjoys managing a diverse portfolio, building long-term relationships, and supporting the development of junior team members. The firm operates a collaborative, people-first culture with a strong emphasis on delivering high-quality, forward-thinking advice to SMEs.
Role Responsibilities
*Manage and develop a portfolio of corporate and private clients across a range of sectors.
*Act as the main point of contact, providing proactive and high-quality advice.
*Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, directors, and internal teams.
*Review statutory accounts and corporation tax computations, ensuring UK GAAP compliance.
*Review self-assessment tax returns and liaise with tax specialists where needed.
*Oversee workflow and deadlines to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
*Coach, mentor, and review the work of junior and semi-senior staff.
*Identify opportunities to add value and cross-sell additional services.
Personal Requirements
*ACA or ACCA qualified.
*Proven experience managing a client portfolio within practice.
*Strong technical knowledge of statutory accounts and UK compliance.
*Confident communicator with a client-first approach.
*Experience reviewing work and developing junior staff.
*Highly organised with strong commercial awareness.
*Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
