Job Description:
Looking to make a meaningful difference, one child at a time?
We’re working with a range of welcoming and inclusive primary schools across Enfield who are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs. This is a brilliant opportunity to be part of a team that truly understands the value of tailored support and the impact it has on every child’s journey.
You’ll be right at the heart of the classroom, offering consistent, nurturing support to pupils with special educational needs, helping them feel safe, understood, and ready to engage with learning in their own way.
If you’re someone who leads with patience, builds trust naturally, and finds joy in those small but powerful breakthroughs, this could be exactly the role you’ve been looking for.
What you’ll be doing:
• Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH
• Adapting learning activities to meet individual needs and learning styles
• Supporting emotional regulation and promoting positive behaviour strategies
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement EHCPs and support plans
• Creating a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment
• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support their confidence and independence
What we’re looking for:
The ideal candidate will be:
• Passionate about supporting children with additional needs
• Patient, empathetic, and resilient
• A calm and consistent presence in the classroom
• A strong communicator who works well with staff, pupils, and families
• Proactive and able to use initiative in a dynamic setting
Experience supporting children with SEN is valuable, but your mindset, compassion, and willingness to learn are what really count.
