Job Description:
Position: Maths Teacher
Location: Burnley, Lancashire
Contract: Full-time
A secondary school in the Burnley area are looking to appoint a full-time Maths Teacher, who is seeking a new role from September 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Maths to students in KS3/4, with focus on providing engaging and challenging lessons that inspire students to learn.
The school is a successful comprehensive school with an excellent provision situated in Burnley, Lancashire. They also have an excellent standard of pastoral care resulting in having a culture of high expectations leading to a happy school to work and learn in.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver effective Maths lessons to students
- Create lesson plans, assessments and assignments that align with the curriculum
- Monitor and track student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning and student well-being
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and other school-related activities
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or related field
- Hold QTS
- Experience teaching Maths to students in KS3/4
- Strong knowledge of Maths curriculum and pedagogy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
