Assembly Operator (SMT)
Department: Manufacturing
Reporting To: Assembly Supervisor
Salary:Up to £38,000
Hours:Monday to Friday – Daytime hours
We are seeking an experienced Assembly Operator (SMT) to join our clients Manufacturing team. You will be responsible for producing high-quality electronic assemblies using SMT processes within a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Operate and support SMT production processes, including screen printing, SMT placement, reflow, SPI and AOI
*Load components, set up and run SMT machines, and support fast product changeovers
*Carry out hand placement and visual inspection of soldered assemblies under magnification
*Identify and escalate quality or process issues
*Complete production paperwork and barcode scanning accurately
*Work collaboratively to maintain quality, efficiency, and throughput
*Adhere to company procedures and Health & Safety requirements at all times
About You
*Previous experience in electronics assembly, ideally SMT machine operation
*Good understanding of solder paste printing and surface-mount components
*High attention to detail with the ability to self-check work
*Comfortable standing for long periods and working to production targets
*Flexible, reliable, and keen to learn
*SMT training or relevant qualifications (NVQ/diploma) are desirable
