Our client is a leading insurer in the London market and in this role you will play a pivotal role in shaping the quality and integrity of policy documentation across their Lloyd’s platform. You will be the expert voice on insurance contracts - drafting, reviewing, negotiating and defending wordings to the highest standard.
Key responsibilities:
*Draft, review and negotiate policy wordings, clauses and summaries of cover
*Act as specialist referral point and coach for underwriting teams on wording matters
*Own wording negotiations from inception through to final agreement with brokers
*Liaise with underwriters and claims teams to support sound coverage decisions
*Ensure compliance with Lloyd’s requirements, regulatory standards and internal governance
*Represent the team at market committees and industry working groups
Experience and skills required:
*In-depth knowledge of insurance contracts and London Market wordings practice
*Strong grasp of multi-jurisdictional regulatory requirements, including US surplus lines
*Experience engaging with Lloyd’s and/or regulators
*Excellent drafting skills and meticulous attention to detail
*Confident communicator able to influence and build consensus at all levels
*Commercial mindset - able to balance legal requirements with business objectives
