THE POST – Cleaner


The University of West of Scotland is looking for a Residence Cleaner to join the Campus Services team. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic living environment for students living in the accommodation.


The core duties of this role will include cleaning communal areas such as corridors, stairwells, kitchens and common rooms, as well as preparing bedrooms for new arrivals. It will also involve regular dusting, hoovering, mopping, waste disposal and sanitising high touch surfaces to meet health and safety standards.


The postholder will be responsible for reporting any maintenance issues, restock cleaning supplies and ensure all areas are welcoming and presentable.




The successful candidate should have the following:


*Experience of working in a customer focused environment and be able to demonstrate an emphasis on providing a quality service.
*An understanding in the use of cleaning chemicals and equipment
*Good organisational and time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines.
*Ability to handle competing priorities and prioritise workload to produce positive student focused results.
