Job Description:
Finance & Operations Manager | Series A AI B2B SaaS Start-Up | London / Hybrid
The Client
Harmonic is delighted to be partnering with a fast-growing, venture-backed AI B2B SaaS business at Series A. The business has built a proprietary large language model purpose-built to tackle one of the most critical and complex problems enterprise organisations face. With a growing roster of enterprise clients, a compelling technical differentiator, and a founder-led team preparing for US expansion following a recent Series A fundraise, this is a business at a genuinely interesting inflection point.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Founder, this is the first in house finance hire. As the Finance & Operations Manager you will own the day-to-day financial and operational running of the business, as well as being a strategic partner to the SLT. This is a hands-on, generalist finance role for someone who is as comfortable producing board-level reporting as they are managing outsourced accountants, setting up a US subsidiary, and building the financial infrastructure the business will need to reach Series B. The team is lean and growing, and this hire will be expected to take genuine ownership from day one, with a clear line of sight to a Head of Finance and Operations position as the business scales.
Key Responsibilities
*Manage the relationship with outsourced accountants, ensuring VAT, payroll, and statutory filings are delivered accurately and on time.
*Own the timely month-end close and management accounts
*Own budget tracking, cash flow monitoring, and burn rate visibility, flagging material variances to the Founder.
*Produce board-level financial reporting and investor updates to a high standard.
*Lead the setup and ongoing compliance of the US subsidiary, working with legal counsel and external advisers.
*Support the Founder on FP&A: scenario planning, financial modelling, and Series B preparation.
*Manage the cap table, EMI options scheme, and shareholder documentation in coordination with legal counsel.
*Oversee revenue operations: raise and track invoices, manage accounts receivable, and ensure billing accuracy.
*Identify and implement process improvements across finance and operations, including automation opportunities to build scalable infrastructure as the business grows.
Essential Experience
*Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
*Hands-on experience managing finance operations in a scaling startup or VC-backed environment.
*Track record of managing outsourced accounting relationships and owning statutory compliance end-to-end.
*Self-starter, able to operate independently in a lean team and manage multiple priorities without close oversight.
Desirable Experience
*Experience setting up or managing a US subsidiary or cross-border entity.
*Experience in a B2B SaaS or enterprise technology environment.
*Familiarity with cap table tools and EMI options administration.
*An interest in building scalable processes through automation and AI tooling.
Salary: £75,000 - £85,000 + equity
Location: Central London, hybrid working
Start Date: ASAP
